Message Questions

Read Ecclesiastes 5:4-5

This past Sunday, we stepped out in faith to make a commitment towards all that God is doing here at Discovery. And as we look to the future we can see a number of Biblical examples and teachings centered around being faithful to God so we can bring Him glory and so we can grow in our own faith.

  • Have you ever made a promise to God?

  • What do you think is the most challenging thing when it comes to making promises to God?

  • Have you ever ‘failed’ to keep your promise to God? What valuable lessons or personal growth came from that experience?

Read Ephesians 3:20-21 in The Passion Translation (yes…we are going to keep reading this passage!)

  • Have you surrendered (or given something over) to God before?

  • Did God give you more wisdom, provision, finances, etc because of what you gave to Him?

  • Do you personally trust that God is fully capable of ‘outdoing’ your wildest dreams?

God wants to give us GOOD gifts, but He also wants to work through us to bring Heaven to earth. So while God is working in us and our lives, He is bringing others closer to Him.

Thanksgiving week Challenge

Take a time this weekend either by yourself or with family to take a prayer walk. Tell God how thankful you are for all the ways He has ‘outdone’ your dreams, prayers, and wildest imaginations. Also, thank Him for the ways He will answer your prayers in the future knowing that He hears us and cares for us with the best future in mind for us.

Prayer

God,

We are thankful that you are the God of abundance. We recognize that we lack no good thing with you. We can’t miss out on the best that you have for us because you are working out the plans you have for us for our good and your glory. May we be reminded this week that your mighty power is at work within us! Thank you for choosing us to do your work here on earth.

We love you Jesus, it’s in your name we pray. Amen.
