DiscoverY Group Leader Resources

One of the most important things we do at Discovery is provide space for people to connect with each other and Jesus throughout the week. We mimic God's hospitality by welcoming others into our homes, time, and attention. As a Discovery Group Leader, you have a significant opportunity to love others like Jesus would. We want to equip and empower you to get better and better at that.

Download the Church Center App

Use this hub to engage with your group and other ares of the church. “Church Center” is the frontend (or congregant side) to the backend of “Planning Center.” The internal work of organization happens in Planning Center, but most people will engage that information through the Church Center App. Eventually it will host an optional directory and other key resources like event links for plugging at Discovery.

Childcare Contacts

This is an evolving list of responsible, experienced childcare. This is mostly teenagers, so make sure to talk through your specific needs and figure out if they’re a good fit. Your group will be responsible for paying them a fair rate, but please don't hesitate to reach out if you need help with that. We especially encourage groups to pool money together to help regardless of whether they have kids being watched or not.

Meal Train

One of the simplist and most effective ways to serve someone through a major life event, crisis, or challenge is to organize meal for the family. Not only does it provide for their most immediate needs, it also gives individuals an opportunity to potentially connect upon delivery.

Christian Counselors Collaborative

Neighborhood Groups can be a place that people finally get real and open up about what's going on in their lives. Your encouragement, acceptance, truth, and listening ear will go a long way in helping most people through difficult seasons. However, sometimes we need a little more help.

We love counselling at Discovery. If you find yourself journeying with someone that needs a little more care, you can (1) send them our way or (2) refer them to this excellent organization. This is an intake number and website. They just need to follow the prompts and this organization will connect them with a phenomenal counsellor.
