Communities that care for your spiritual wellbeing and formation are not just some extra curricular activity. They anchor you to reality, love, and hope. They can be a central place where you learn to understand how your purpose intersects with God’s good intentions and work. They’re the best way to connect to campus, build frienships, and continue your maturation into the person only God could dream you might become.
NOTE: We cannot fully vouch for any of these. We can only say, that these are the first places we would check out if we were in your shoes. It’s hard to tell from the internet and our limited networks how great or cheesy or obnoxious or cool these groups might actually be!
DUQUESNE
They’re catholic so there will be some kind of campus ministry. While we’re not catholic, there’s a lot you can gain from that Christian tradition. Here are a few churches worth possibley checking out nearby though:
Garden City Chruch (North Side) - A diverse, grounded church plant helped started by our founding pastor and other friends.
Allegheny Center Alliance Church (North Side) - One of the most important churches in Pittsburgh involved especially in doing good. Helped start a counseling organization we work with and Urban Impact.
The Sanctuary (Formerly Amplify) - Lots of people we respect are somewhat connected here and it’s within waling distance to campus. More charismatic than us.

Indiana University of PA
UNITED - A collaborative project among several area churches to serve young adults and especially IUP students.
Coalition for Christian Outreach (CCO) - CCO is a Pittsburgh-based (we know several of their leaders) college minstry organization that helps bridge the gap between churches and college campuses.
MERCYHURST UNIVERSITY
Elevate Church - Pretty similar to Discovery in vibe and theology.
Lux Digital Church - A completely online church experience, but actually based not far from Discovery. Focuses on platforms like Twitch for the video and board gamer community. I thought Bryant especially might be interested in checking it out.
MIAMI (OH) UNIVERSITY
These are all pretty standard organizations with good reputations on most college campuses, including this one!
PENN STATE
Cru - A very common and typically great campus ministry. We’re friends of friends of their leaders.
The Well / Wellspring Church - If you go here, let me know. I’m curious.
Robert Morris University
Our good friend Nelle who works in administration there, thinks these organizations seem pretty baller.
