Thank you notes

This is a great time of year to bask in gratitude for all that God has done in our lives, especially the people he’s given us. We party, we feast, we exchange gifts, and we share all kinds of traditions. Many of us will send cards giving life updates or thanking someone for their thoughtfulness. This is exactly what Paul was doing as he wrote the book of Philippians. This was a church community who delighted him, inspired him, and had recently given gifts to him. He wants to thank them and encourage them to continue along the path ahead and overcome anything holding them back. As a church in a similar situation (generous, joyful, and growing) maybe his words will resonate with us too.
